Alexandre and Antoine Vétois are among the smallest farmers of the prestigious Sancerre appellation. Alexandre and Antoine, twin brothers, born in 1992, come from a long line of winegrowers, from the hamlet of Champtin, in the commune of Crézancy-en-Sancerre. But it was in just 2019 that they embarked on their winemaking adventure, with a single plot of vines, just 0.21 hectares. Today, after the recovery of the original plot and three others that were acquired later, they are farming 1.40 hectares. Their goal is to produce the best grapes possible, and make wine with as little intervention as possible in the cellar. Concerned about the environment, Alexandre and Antoine Vétois work their vines very meticulously. They favor manual work (tractors are excluded 7 months of the year, and plant covers are crucial to them), to have a living soil and vines in perfect health. Their farm is in conversion to organic farming. Passionate about agroecology, the brothers set up orchards and honey fallows, with the aim of improving biodiversity.
