Cantina Tollo was established in 1960 in the province of Chieti. As a cooperative winery named after its village, they became a prominent figure in the region and a great support to the people of Tollo. During an important period of growth for the wine industry in Abruzzo, Cantina Tollo’s vineyards and winemaking were run by locals, allowing for a regional authenticity to the wine, as well as for the townsfolk to work near their homes.
Today Cantina Tollo works with families of grape growers producing hand-selected, estate grown and bottled wines from DOP regions of Abruzzo and IGP Terre di Chieti. The producers take environmental initiatives such as solar energy and water purification for irrigation, to lower their carbon footprint.
