During Prohibition, Al Capone got moonshine from many different places. But the shine he liked the most was made by Casey Jones. An artisan, engineer and bootlegger, Casey Jones was known for his square pot still, also known as a coffin still, which fit perfectly in the bed of a wagon or pickup truck. (A definite plus when a moonshiner needed to make a fast getaway and did not want to leave the tools of his trade behind.)
Casey Jones built his last still in 1967- but his design is still used in the distillery to this day, which is helmed by his grandson, Arlon Casey Jones (AJ). As the Master Distiller, AJ handcrafts every batch of Casey Jones Moonshine and Bourbon using a recipe that has been handed down through generations of the Jones family.
The Total Eclipse Moonshine is the classic, smooth, first-cut moonshine, which they also make as a barrel-aged product. The Small Batch Kentucky Bourbon is an extremely limited run aged in various 25 and 53 gallon charred white oak barrels for over two years and is bottled at 104 proof.
