Every so often a winemaker has the foresight and ability to stow away some of their best wines - creating a library of back vintages - to be released in small quantities at the winemaker's behest. For Famiglia Anselma, this practice began in 1993 and they continue to invest bottles annually to their now thirty-plus year old Live Wine Library.
Believing first and foremost that high quality wines come from high quality grapes, Famiglia Anselma settled in Barolo in the 1970s. Since its inception, Fessia Giovanna has been able to carefully procure vineyard sites across Barolo, including holdings in revered communes Barolo, Monforte, and Serralunga. Today Fessia (Mrs. Vanna) and her son Maurizio oversee the winery together, using only estate grown fruit for their famous Barolo.
