In 2020, Eliot Martin and Katie Luczai, a passionate husband-and-wife team, embarked on a journey fueled by their shared love for wine and a desire to explore new horizons.

Their quest? To discover novel experiences through the art of winemaking. This led them to a vision: to craft exceptional, locally sourced natural wines that rival the best of Europe. Eliot, with an unwavering passion for sustainable, natural wines, saw an opportunity in the New England landscape. While Vermont and Maine boast fabulous natural wine producers, Massachusetts lacked a similar scene despite a more favorable climate and larger local consumer base. Inspired by their travels and work at natural wineries across Portugal, Spain, England, Italy, Croatia, and Slovenia, they returned to New England, ready to fill this gap.

In August 2023, they established Marzae Winery in Acton, Massachusetts. Their approach is rooted in locality and sustainability, with every aspect of the winemaking process reflecting an unwavering commitment to the environment. From meticulously selected fruit to locally sourced honey, each ingredient contributes to wines that are not just about taste, but about connection to the land and community. Marzae's winemaking philosophy is both creative and hands-off, allowing the grapes to express their unique character. The result? Exceptional wines that tell a story with every sip, each bottle embodying the founders' passion and dedication. In just a few short months, this vision has been validated by others’ claims that Marzae is producing the best wines on the East Coast!
