Nestled in the heart of Oaxaca’s Central Valleys, their Palenque and lands are a reflection of their dedication to preserving tradition while embracing innovation.

Enrique, a third-generation Maestro Mezcalero with an engineering background, blends ancestral techniques with modern technology - like water ionization - to produce mezcal of exceptional purity and quality. His distillery, "Riquezas de Oaxaca," located near Teotitlán del Valle, is a hub for creating small-batch, niche mezcals such as Descartes.

Andrés, a mechanical engineer with a Master's in Carbon Management, brought his commitment to sustainability into every aspect of Descartes. Together, Enrique and Andrés craft mezcal with respect for the land, using organically grown Espadín agave with a focus on environmental conservation and social impact.
