Falernum originated in 19th century Barbados as a blend of rum, local fruit, and spices. When Ernest Raymond Baumont Gantt, better known as ‘Donn The Beachcomber’, and the founder of Tiki, began using it in his concoctions, Falernum secured its rightful place in cocktail culture. In collaboration with Edoardo Nono and the Rita & Cocktails team in Milan, Compagnia dei Caraibi has created an artisanal version featuring ginger. White and dark Caribbean rum, spices, bitter almonds, and citrus also contribute to its production.
