Pass Wines is a bespoke winery based in Napa Valley, created by experienced winemaker Ryan Pass. A graduate of the UC Davis school of Viticulture and Enology, Ryan became the head winemaker at Farella Vineyards in 2018, and produced his first vintage of Pass Wines in 2020. The wines are made from some of the best Chardonnay and Merlot in the region, and are extremely limited in production.
Pass Wines meticulously selects the vineyards from which they source their fruit, working with Wood Valley, Yates Family, Farella, and Coplan vineyards. Because the wines are made with as little intervention as possible, it’s important that the fruit and the growing conditions are optimal. Rather than striving for a particular style of wine, Pass allows the vineyards dictate what the final product will be.
The winemaking is done in a thoughtfully hands-off style, while paying attention to which methods suit the wines best. Whether classically made or with a little bit of experimentation, no two Pass Wines are the same.
