Tenuta Pianirossi was imagined by a young Stefano Sincini, while studying in Siena. In 1999 he came upon a beautiful estate in the rolling Tuscan hills near Montalcino, and immediately recognized the potential for greatness . In awe of the natural beauty of the land, he assembled a team of highly-skilled wine experts and artisans to achieve his dream.
Famed Carlo Ferrini served as the original oenologist, where he established the revered winemaking practices that current winemaker Julien Viaud carries out to this day. The estate is approximately 25 hectares of land, 14 of which are dedicated to vineyards. All work in the vineyards is done by hand with organic practices.
Passion for the land and love of wine are at the forefront of Pianirossi. Nestled into the breathtaking nature of Maremma, the site also functions as an agriturismo, where guests enjoy a pastoral view of the setting sun and animals grazing in the vineyards. While renovating the existing buildings for this operation, the team focused on biobuilding and solar energy, including the installation of a photovoltaic system. Tenuta Pianirossi has achieved energy independence.
