Manuel Hespanhol purchased Quinta do Zimbro in 2003, after many years of experience making wine alongside his father. He came from a generation of independent bottlers, during a time where quantity was preferred to quality. Determined to leave behind a legacy, upon his passing in 2015 the winery was handed over to his five daughters. Ana Hespanhol runs the winery today, where she has since scaled back operations to focus on estate wines, honoring her father’s mission.
