This is densely packed, featuring fig, blackberry and boysenberry paste flavors, but also racy and fresh in feel, with finely beaded acidity and enticing anise and black tea notes skittering underneath. The roasted apple wood frame is well-integrated. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best from 2020 through 2032. 65 cases made. — JM

Very bold, ripe, slightly chewy and dense young blend of 63 per cent cabernet sauvignon, 33 per cent merlot and four per cent malbec. The ripe cassis, cherries and plums are bundled to the center right now. This needs a couple of years to unfurl. There’s plenty to come. Try from 2020.
