Chateau Maucoil Chateauneuf du Pape Tradition Blanc 2016

Wine Spectator: 93pts

Very tasty, with bright yellow apple, Cavaillon melon and white peach flavors gilded with hints of brioche, heather and salted butter. The long finish is polished and pure. Grenache, Clairette, Bourboulenc and Cinsault. Drink now through 2021. 3,000 cases made, 800 cases imported. — JM

Wine Advocate: 92pts

I preferred the unoaked 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc to the Trésor des Papes for its greater freshness and vitality. The blend of 70% Grenache Blanc and 15% each Bourboulenc and Clairette offers an array of citrusy aromas and flavors, from lime and orange to pineapple, finishing clean and zesty.

Vinous: 90pts

Limpid yellow-gold. Fresh, spice-tinged pear, lemon pith and pungent flowers on the perfumed nose. Taut and energetic on the palate, offering juicy melon, Meyer lemon and pear flavors that slowly tighten up slowly on the back half. Finishes on a smoky mineral note, showing very good energy and lingering citrus character.

 Wine Enthusiast: 90pts

Exuberant white blossom and lemon zest abound in this unusually perfumed Châteauneuf-du-Pape. While rounded and rich in texture, it's appley and fresh on the palate. The finish is marked by lingering salt and mineral tones.
