James Suckling: 95pts - #92 Top 100 Italian Wine of 2017
A polished and juicy red with plum and berry character, fine tannins and a savory finish. Burgundian texture with Tuscan nature. Love it. Drink now.

The 2013 ‘Riecine’ Toscana Rosso is a fresh, vibrant red which opens to aromas of wild red berries, dried cherry, spices, rose petal and licorice all taking shape in the glass. On the palate this is elegant, medium-bodied and well defined with fine tannins and a bright, racy core of acidity providing lovely freshness through the spice-tinged finish. Although this is 100% Sangiovese it really brings to mind characteristics you might expect to find in Pinot Noir or even Nerello Mascalese. Overall, this is an interesting and quite unique expression of the varietal. (Best 2018-2027) - August, 2017 (JD)
