Proidl's 2014 Riesling Hochäcker 1ÖTW is lovely pure, precise and herbal on the nose, aromatically intense and delicate at the same time, like perfume drops on hot gneiss soils. Very elegant, intense and juicy on the palate, with a beautiful fruit concentration (mango, passion fruit), this is a beautifully defined, piquant and extremely salty Riesling. Just a little hint of freshly cut lemon zest is offered on the nose. The palate however reveals fresh green and red apple fruit and a lively, joyful freshness. This simply shines with honest, fruity purity and is a splendid refresher on a warm, sunny day.
