René Leclerc Gevrey Chambertin 2011

International Wine Report: 92pts

The 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin from Rene LeClerc is a made in a traditional style, harvested by hand from 60-years-old vines. It displays beautiful aromas of dark cherries, truffle, tobacco, strawberry, spring flowers, white pepper, spice and red fruits. It possesses wonderful structure with firm tannins, ending with a long, elegant finish. This age-worthy red is built for the cellar and will need more time, so allow it another 3-5 years in bottle and enjoy it over the next decade. (Best 2018-2028) - Oct, 2014 (MD)

Wine Spectator: 90pts

The pure cherry and raspberry fruit is singed by tobacco and underbrush notes, all matched to a gossamer texture. Delicate in profile and long on the finish, but needs a little air. Decant now. 1,500 cases made. –BS, 2015
