James Suckling: 94pts
Beautiful aromas of plums and chocolate powder. Medium to full body, silky and fine tannins. Tight and structured. Very pretty and long. This will improve beautifully with age. Nov 2016

The 2012 Pietranera is a refined Brunello di Montalcino, which slowly opens to aromas of cherries and red berries woven together with exotic spices, earth, floral and hints of grilled herbs. It possesses a medium body, with silky tannins, which carry though into the lingeirng finish. As with previous vintages, this is reserved upon opening, and demands a significant amount of air contact before it begins to fully express itself. That being said, I beleive this will age beautifully over the course of the next decade. (Best 2019-2027) - February, 2016 (JD)
