International Wine Report: 93pts
he 2013 'Lequilibrio' Barbera d’Asti spent about 12-15 months French oak barriques and 1 month in stainless steel tanks for softening prior to 6/8 months in bottle before release. This is an open style Barbera, which offers aromas of ripe cherries and dried dark plum along with pepper, spices, chocolate, and leather notes all taking shape. The medium-full body is supported by a round velvety texture, before heading into the finish where dark cherries, spices and peppery notes linger on. Overall, this is an accessible and delicious Barbera, which should continue to drink well over the next few years. - December, 2016 (JD)
