Like the name of the estate, which means "burned house" in Italian, the 2014 Barbaresco has a smoky feel, with layers of cured meats and campfire. The color is dark and saturated, but it is thin in the mouth, with medium weight and intensity. There is some last-minute ripeness, though, which gives the wine a loosely knit and approachable personality. Some 11,000 bottles were made.
