The 2017 Rasteau Domaine Les Evigneaux checks in as 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 10% Carignan, and the balance Cinsault and Mourvedre that was brought up all in new barrels. It’s certainly a modern style effort, yet it’s packed with ample dark fruits, ground pepper, garrigue, and earthy minerality. Medium to full-bodied, with plenty of integrated oak, it’s not for the staunch traditionalist out there, but it’s a beautiful wine.
