A very modern stance on the nose here, this has attractive aromas of anise and spiced red cherry, as well as some sappy, frosty tones. The palate has a sleek, juicy feel with very vibrantly juicy cherry flavors. Succulent tannins, too. Drink or hold.

Scented with toasted hazelnuts, and sporting flavors of rhubarb-strawberry pie, this delicious wine just keeps on giving, even as it trails away. As with several of the winery's 2018s, it comes with a whiff of funk, here a light and pleasant accent.
The overall balance and length punch up the score. About 30% of the barrels were new. — Paul Gregutt
