James Suckling: 93 pts
Aromas of baked cherries, plums and fresh violets. Full-bodied with fine, chewy tannins. Rich. Clear herbal character, with notes of thyme and chive coming through. Iron-like minerals, too. Drink or hold.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Goat is all Red Willow Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon that spent 29 months in 83% new French oak. Its dense purple/plum color is followed by a ripe, medium to full-bodied wine revealing good freshness on the palate, ripe tannins, and more dense, straightforward aromatics of chocolate covered blue fruits, graphite, and tobacco. It brings lots of tannins and structure on the palate but has good concentration. It should benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age to hopefully gain elegance and complexity, and it should have over a decade or prime drinking.
